Growing Hope for 2016

We wish to express our sincere gratitude for your empowering support as we enter this holiday season and Heartbeat’s 8th year offering music education and dialogue programs to Israeli and Palestinian youth. While painful tragedy plagues our world, you have helped keep one small, but steadily growing space of hope alive. We intend to keep growing this space.

In August 2016 we plan to offer our first facilitators training, to equip 10-20 Jewish and Arab educators with the knowledge, skills and experience required to lead Heartbeat chapters and other intergroup encounters through music education programs. This training will lay the necessary groundwork to replicate and expand our programs, opening Heartbeat opportunities to hundreds more Israeli and Palestinian youth. With increased staff capacity and your support, we hope to launch one new chapter in the Fall of 2016 and to continue expanding in the years to come.

In order to open a new chapter and run our facilitators training program while sustaining our current level of programming, we need to raise $150,000 by May 1, 2016. Fortunately, the Bodhi Foundation has generously offered to contribute $60,000 towards this goal if we can raise a further $60,000 by May 1st. With your support, we can absolutely do this.

Please help us raise the first $15,000 by January 1st by donating here or by sharing this post on Facebook.

We know that justice and peace can only come when the people themselves stand together to demand change. We hope you will join us in providing the desperately needed space for young Israelis and Palestinians to kindle their hope and develop the tools to amplify their impact.

Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for strengthening our hope.

We wish you and your families a peaceful and joyous holiday season,

Aaron Shneyer
